PANAMA OPEN DANCE FEST


In the next section, you will find the various competitor policies. Please read all points carefully to be informed of the requirements, rights and obligations of the competition.
Pay
Payment must be made through PayPal or Credit/Debit Card.

* Once the payment is completed, you must send proof of payment, which must include the name of the academy or representative person, telephone number and what the record supports to the email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Separate deposits from competitors are not allowed, it is a single deposit per academy. Deposit slips must also be presented at the registration table on the day of the event.
Registration Deadline
All registrations for the Panama Open Dance Fest competition and workshops must be submitted online no later than April 28, 2024. Registration will not be considered complete if proof of payment is not received. Those who register after the deadline will have an additional charge of $15 for the payment of the competition and/or workshops.
Competition Requirements
The choreographies must be registered with the name of the academy, group or institution, not the choreographer, unless the choreographer is independent. It is not allowed for a student to compete against himself in the same technique, if he can compete in different techniques. Teachers who want to compete must register in the professional category, in this category cash prizes are awarded (depending on the number of registered teachers).
Refund Policies
Competition and workshop payments are non-refundable. If you cannot participate for any justified reason such as an injury, you will be asked to present a medical certificate and the money will remain as credit for another Open Dance Fest event.
Admissions
Tickets will only be sold through the Panatickets platform. Admission to observe the competitions has a cost per session of:

Adults: $15
Children: $10
Adult full pass: $25
Full pass child: $15

The entrance fee does not include tax or service charges.
The behavior of the participants must be impeccable at all times.
Loss or Injury
Panama Open Dance Fest, its organization and the places where the events take place, are not responsible for personal loss or damage.
Divisiones de Edad
On each registration form, you will find each age division according to its category.
Age Calculation
Each team can include athletes who belong to an age category such as: Mini, Juvenile, Junior, Youth and Adult, that is, they can mix the ages and it is calculated like this: A team of 5 athletes can have 1 athlete outside their team. age category, a team of 10 athletes can have 2 athletes outside their age category, that is, 1 athlete outside their age category is allowed for every 4 athletes to maintain the lower age category.
Music
All music must be sent to the email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You will need to bring a backup copy of the music to the event on a USB, clearly labeled and of professional quality. Teachers must select appropriate music and its lyrical contents. Vulgar, derogatory or sexually suggestive words and inappropriate dance moves are grounds for disqualification.

The category tasting music times can be found in the regulations, starting in section 7.
Presentation of academies
Once the heatlist is published, all participating teachers will be able to see the order of presentation of their academy where they registered, one week before the event and will have 24 hours to confirm if the information is correct, in order to validate the event. Each change requested after the heatlist has been published will have an additional cost of $10.
Time and Schedule
Competitors with changes in makeup or costumes that require additional time to prepare between their choreographies MUST notify these changes to the ringmaster at least 15 minutes before their performance.
Accessories and Props
All accessories or props must be placed on the stage by the studio (not by the Panama Open Dance Fest staff, in a time no longer than 20 seconds. The stage must be clean after removing the accessories, for the safety of the participants. dancers, the use of confetti, dust, foam, water, or anything that could affect the following choreography is not allowed.
Videos and Photography
The use of cameras to take videos or photographs during competitions is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught will be penalized. If it is allowed to take the prize. Photographs and videos taken by Panama Open Dance Fest during competitions and workshops belong to Panama Open Dance Fest and may be used for promotional purposes.
Judges' comments and results
If you wish to obtain the judge's comment, you must request it by email and it will be sent to you 5 days after the competition by this same means. Comments will only be made on each presentation of the soloists.

The results of the competition without comments will be published on the website.
Workshops
Teachers with bracelets have access to all classes and backstage. There are no bracelets for observers, parents are not allowed access.

If you have not purchased any director package:

For every 15 students enrolled, 1 teacher is free.
For every 30 students enrolled, 2 teachers are free only, NOT more.
Requirements to travel to Panama
• Valid passport, at least 6 months old.
• Return ticket to the country of origin or the next destination to visit.
• Present financial solvency of at least five hundred dollars (USD $500.00), whether in cash, credit card, bank reference, employment letter or traveler's checks. Some nationalities must submit a higher amount. We recommend validating with the Panama consulate, in your country, or with your airline.
• Address of the place of lodging and reason for travel.
• Some nationalities need to present a tourist visa before their trip to Panama. We recommend if this is your case, go directly to the Panama consulate in your country. For any other questions, go to the Panama National Immigration Service page or check with your airline.
